The FarField Technology product range offers developers, researchers, engineers and OEMs advanced techniques for modeling scattered 3D and 2D data. FastRBF enables data sets consisting of millions of points to be interpolated by Radial Basis Functions (RBFs). New filtering and approximation methods make FastRBF ideal for visualising and processing non-uniformly sampled noisy data.

ARANZ Limited markets and sells this range of products through their subsidiary company Farfield Limited has developed two major products: FastRBF and Silverlining. 

FastRBF allows RBFs to be fitted to systems with more than 1,000,000 data points on ordinary computing hardware. The polyharmonic (thin-plate) splines that FastRBF uses result in the "smoothest" interpolant, in the sense that they minimise the energy in the 2nd, 3rd, or higher derivatives. This results in extraordinary extrapolation capabilities when large gaps occur in a data set. FastRBF has already been applied a diverse range of engineering and research problems from CAD-CAM rapid prototyping, Medical Imaging and Geophysics to Scientific visualisation, Computer graphics and Signal processing.

SilverLining™ is a stand-alone graphical tool based on our FastRBF™ technology, for fitting smooth meshes to point-cloud data or incomplete mesh data. It produces watertight meshes for computer graphics and rapid prototyping. SilverLining™ is marketed and sold through ARANZ's subsidiary FarField Technology Ltd.
